How to use: 

Firstly, keep the whetstone immersed the water for 10 minutes. Do not extend much more than 10 minutes, cause the whetstone might be softened. 

Once the #12.000 whetstone is used for finishing the surface of the blade, this product is very delicate. It is recommended to give the finishing quickly. For this process, is extremely important the using of #1.000 or #1.200 Whetstone, then #6.000 Whetstone and, finally, the #12.000 Whetstone. During this process of changing the whetstones, is necessary to wash very well the knife, hands and nails, because of the whetstones residues.

Whetstone care:

  • Do not keep the whetstone inside the water for long time;
  • Do not expose the whetstone to the sun or hot places, for example, inside the car;
  • Do not wash the whetstone with hot water;
  • Do not use the detergent or soap;
  • Do not use hair dryer or fan for drying.

Please be careful!

・Please note that there may be individual variations in shape, finish, and color due to the handcrafted nature of our knives and the use of natural materials for the handles.

・Do not cut frozen foods or bones with knives that are not specifically designed for that purpose. Doing so can cause significant damage to the blade. 

・Do not use a dishwasher for cleaning. It may cause rust and damage to the handle.

・After use, do not leave the knife dirty. Hand wash it with a neutral detergent and then remove any moisture. 

・Carbon steel knives are extremely prone to rusting, so clean and dry them promptly. When storing, apply camellia oil to the blade.

・Avoid using simple sharpeners as they can damage the blade. If you must use them, please follow up with maintenance using a whetstone.
