Kyohei Shindo ⁴

Kyohei Shindo, the owner of Kyohei Forging, started to pursue his childhood love of crafting knives while he was a university student.

Wanting to make a living from it, he began to dream of becoming a blacksmith in the future.

Initially aiming for Kōchi Prefecture, home to many blacksmiths embodying his envisioned style, he spent his days training on weekends before opening "Kyōhei Forging" and striking out on his own in 2019.

In 2020, their long-awaited in-house factory was completed, and they are now busily manufacturing all kinds of knives every day.

He also works as an assistant instructor at the Kochi Prefecture Tosa Cutlery Union's Blacksmith Creation School.
