Seki City, Gifu Prefecture, flourished as a production center of swords in the Kamakura period (1185-1333) and is still famous today as one of the three major regions of knife manufacturing.
The company, named after the swordsmith Shizu Saburo, aims to make knives like his swords, which are said to be "unbreakable, unbendable, and sharp."
Its knives are made with careful work, advanced ideas, and elegant designs that cannot be found anywhere else.
